Dear readers,
Have you been able to turn on the TV or pick up a newspaper lately without finding more news about the economic crisis? Impossible, right? The subject is everywhere, and the media cannot seem to stop publishing more pseudo-apocalyptic forecasts of global economic collapse every day.
I, however, am trying to ask us all to act rationally and, most of all, to keep calm. Crises are an integral part of economics and tend to appear every few years. Naturally, the best way of facing them is to act with care and get prepared beforehand, but now that we are in the middle of the crisis, there is no point in panicking and making mistakes.
Currently, there are still some questions that need to be answered: how can we ensure assets will not lose value, how can we ensure cash flow, how can we keep strategic customers and employees, etcetera? Though these seem like simple questions we need to prepare the answers with care. We business owners, executives and managers are responsible for preparing companies for times of crisis, and that is what good management is based on: the ability to know how to react when faced with an adverse situation.
I sincerely hope that you manage to successfully carry your company through this period of recession, with its limitations on investments and delays in payments. We may even end up becoming fond of the crisis!
Kind regards,
Iwona Smater
