Over the last decade, Morocco has confirmed itself as a regional pioneer. Thanks to its political stability, which makes it an exception in the region, its favourable geographic location and the competitive production costs, Morocco offers a good business climate for Moroccan and foreign companies. The most important business opportunities are in industrial sectors, such as automotive, aeronautics, IT, pharma, chemistry, renewable energies, agribusiness and logistics. For instance, the automotive industry has witnessed a boom and represents the first industrial exporting sector. It has become Africa’s automotive industry hub, gaining a privileged position in northern Africa and turning to a competitive location alternative to Central and Eastern Europe.
Morocco: Gateway to Africa
Furthermore, Morocco is not only relevant as a very attractive manufacturing location or as a platform to serve the local market, but continues to be a stepping stone to other African countries. Thanks to its cooperation-based policy in Africa, a number of free trade agreements, a strong banking sector and the omnipresence of various Moroccan business footprints on the African continent, the kingdom is positioning itself as a regional hub for opening up markets in North and West Africa.
